Details
The investigation established that in February 2024, the senior lieutenant posted an advertisement for the sale of weapons in a closed Telegram group. Subsequently, he met with a buyer at a local cafe to discuss the terms of the deal, after which he brought him to a garage where he stored the arsenal.
There, the law enforcement officer sold two anti-tank grenade launchers and ten high-explosive anti-tank grenades with fuses, receiving 30,000 UAH in return. During the conversation, he also expressed readiness to continue selling weapons and ammunition.
The illegal activity has been stopped. During a search at the suspect's place of residence, two more grenades were seized.
The man has been notified of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — carrying, storing, purchasing, and selling firearms and ammunition without a legally required permit. The court has ordered a preventive measure in the form of detention with the alternative of posting bail.
