Residents of the coastal settlements of the temporarily occupied Crimea find birds affected by fuel oil due to the accident of Russian tankers on the shore.
This was reported by UNN with reference to Krym.Realii.
Details
An activist from Crimea (on condition of anonymity) said that birds affected by fuel oil are already being found on the southern coast of Crimea. A special algorithm has been developed to help the affected animals.
The injured birds are being taken to the Yalta Zoo “Skazka”, but after treatment they are to be released into the wild, where there is a high risk of repeated contamination with fuel oil.
According to a group of scientists led by Doctor of Physics and Mathematics Serhiy Zatsepa, the pollution spot is moving southwest, bypassing Feodosia Bay, Sudak and Alushta, and heading directly to Yalta.
Earlier, the occupation authorities of Crimea declared a man-made emergency on a regional scale due to a large fuel oil spill in the Black Sea. The state of emergency was introduced within Kerch and Leninsky district.
