Senior FBI officials said on Sunday that agents are investigating the shooting at a Trump rally as a possible domestic terrorist attack and attempted murder.
Law enforcement officials said they found no indication that the 20-year-old shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, was part of any larger plot.
In addition, FBI officials said they found no evidence of mental health issues with the shooter. According to them, his phone, a semi-automatic AR-15 rifle and a suspected explosive device found among his belongings were sent to the FBI laboratory in Quantico, Virginia.
According to law enforcement, the attacker's family is cooperating with the investigation.
