The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has issued recommendations to Ukrainian citizens in connection with the Ebola virus outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, UNN reports.
In connection with the official confirmation by the World Health Organization on May 17, 2026, of an Ebola virus epidemic outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine recommends that Ukrainian citizens refrain from traveling to the region affected by the epidemic. The virus is spreading rapidly through the provinces of Ituri and South Kivu,
Ukrainian citizens who are already in the territory of the DR Congo are recommended to:
- refrain from traveling to the aforementioned provinces;
- strictly follow the instructions of the local competent authorities;
- constantly monitor official announcements from the Embassy of Ukraine in the DR Congo.
