Two weeks ago, when Bratislava hosted a march attended by tens of thousands of people every year, police discovered a group preparing to attack the marchers.
Its members were from European countries, the United States, and Russia and actively developed plans to attack Muslims, Jews, migrants, or LGBT people in a closed group on the social network Telegram and other platforms.
“This group created channels and chat groups on various online platforms where people from all over Europe, the United States and the Russian Federation communicated. These channels were used to disseminate neo-Nazi symbols, hate speech and incitement to violence or terrorist attacks against minorities. The targets of the attacks were to be representatives of various minorities, such as Muslims, Jews, migrants or people from the LGBT+ community,” Slovak police said two weeks ago.
One of the Telegram groups consisted of hundreds of people, often minors. It united people who insulted and radicalized each other, sent each other neo-Nazi symbols and, according to the police, actively planned their first action, which was to take place on July 20 in Bratislava.
Reportedly, during the Rainbow Pride march, they wanted to kill its participants.
