Czech Defense Minister visits Ukraine and honors those who died in wars

Czech Defense Minister Jana Černohová honored the memory of Czech soldiers of the First and Second World Wars, as well as Ukrainian soldiers who recently died defending their homeland.

In Ukraine, Defense Minister Yana Chernokhova and a delegation from the Czech Ministry of Defense honored the memory of Czechoslovak legionnaires and soldiers of World War II, and also paid tribute to the sacrifices of soldiers from Czech lands who fought in the ranks of the Austro-Hungarian army.

Jana Chernokhova began her visit to Ukraine on Thursday at the cemetery of the village of Sadahura, near the city of Chernivtsi, near the Ukrainian-Romanian border. At the local cemetery, she laid flowers in memory of Czechoslovakian soldiers who died during World War II in various places on the Right Bank of Ukraine.

The three-day trip ended with a commemorative event at the Choral Mound, a landmark site associated with the beginning of the Czechoslovak legions' activities on the Eastern Front, the ministry said.

During the trip, Yana Chernokhova also honored the memory of Ukrainian soldiers who died defending their homeland.

The Czech Republic has joined the drone coalition for Ukraine, led by Latvia and the United Kingdom. Latvia has allocated 20 million euros to the coalitionand is offering opportunities for testing and upgrading drones.
