The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a decision defining the mechanism for the temporary provision of housing for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in rural areas, according to the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity. This was reported by the Ministry of Social Policy, writes UNN.
The document establishes the procedure for purchasing housing for the needs of displaced persons and the use of state support funds for these purposes. In particular, communities will be able to receive a subvention from the state budget to form housing funds. Such housing will be used for the temporary residence of internally displaced persons
It is noted that the adopted decision also defines the rules for implementing an experimental project aimed at expanding the capabilities of communities to temporarily provide displaced persons with housing in rural areas.
In particular, the project can be used by IDPs who have moved from territories where hostilities are being (or were) conducted or from temporarily occupied territories (according to the list of the Ministry of Development), and who simultaneously meet property and financial criteria (in particular, they do not have their own habitable housing in the controlled territory, have not received compensation or housing vouchers for destroyed property, and within the last 6 months have not purchased land plots more expensive than 100,000 UAH or new cars).
Priority right to receive housing in rural areas is given to: families with many children; persons with disabilities and families with children with disabilities; orphans and persons deprived of parental care (or persons over 23 years old who had such status until reaching adulthood); and the elderly.
