This year, the national tour "Cinema for Victory!" is now 2 years old.
"The tour highlighted the full power of Ukrainian cinema in this difficult time. For 2 years, we have seen how it unites communities, raises the morale of our defenders and simply gives people joy. We are proud to be a part of this powerful initiative that proves that art is capable of creating outstanding changes," said Alex Pakholyuk, director of MHP-Community.
Since August 6, 2022, 1868 screenings of 65 Ukrainian feature films have taken place in 387 settlements and military units in 23 regions of Ukraine and the city of Kyiv. And 70+ filmmakers and artists joined the events of the Tour, including Ada Rogovtseva, Akhtem Seitablaev, Irma Vitovska-Vantsa, Bohdan Beniuk, and Oles Sanin.
"We are immensely grateful to all the filmmakers and partners who have supported the Cinema for Victory Tour for the past two years. Together, we are doing an important job - expressing gratitude to our soldiers, motivating and supporting civilian viewers," said Andriy Rizol, the initiator of the tour and head of the Watch Ukrainian association.
The project is being implemented at the initiative of the Office of the President of Ukraine, the Ukrainian State Film Agency, the "Watch Ukrainian" association, with the support of MHP-Hromada, in cooperation with the StratCom of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the assistance of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, regional military-civilian administrations, the National Guard of Ukraine and the National Police of Ukraine.
