Kyrylo Budanov arrived in Warsaw to discuss the war and the naming of a unit in honor of the UPA. Iryna Vereshchuk and Sergiy Kyslytsya are also participating in the visit.

The Head of the Office of the President, Kyrylo Budanov, is on an unannounced visit to Poland, where he is holding a series of meetings with representatives of the Polish authorities. One of the goals of the trip is to discuss the security situation and the course of the war in Ukraine with the leadership of the Polish defense department. This was reported by Onet, according to UNN

Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, arrived in Warsaw. He has already met with Marcin Bosacki, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The discussion concerned the naming of a Ukrainian unit after the UPA 

- the publication writes. 

The meeting took place at the request of the Ukrainian side, and Budanov was accompanied by his deputies: Iryna Vereshchuk and Sergiy Kyslytsya.

An important item on the agenda was also to be a summary of current military operations and the situation on the front line.

A meeting between Budanov and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz is scheduled for Saturday.

As a reminder 

On Wednesday, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy granted one of the units of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine the name "named after the Heroes of the UPA".   

Following this, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that the decision to grant the Ukrainian SOF unit the name "named after the Heroes of the UPA" causes concern regarding bilateral relations and touches upon historical sensitivities, adding that it "unnecessarily brings the issue of historical differences back to a rather alarming level." Meanwhile, Polish President Karol Nawrocki stated that he is critical of the Ukrainian President's decision and believes that Zelenskyy should be stripped of the Polish Order of the White Eagle.

During a meeting with residents in Tarnogród on June 2, Sikorski responded to a question regarding President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's decision to grant one of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine the honorary name "Heroes of the UPA".
