Due to bad weather and Russian shelling, power outages have occurred in 12 regions. Consumption fell by 7.8% thanks to clear weather and weather-related outages; no restrictions are forecasted for today.

Electricity consumption has decreased amid clear weather and power outages caused by bad weather, which led to blackouts in over 350 settlements across 10 regions; due to Russian attacks, residents in four regions are without power, NEC "Ukrenergo" and the Ministry of Energy reported on Thursday, UNN writes.

Consequences of enemy shelling

"As a result of enemy attacks on civilian energy infrastructure facilities, as of this morning, there are new power outages in the Sumy, Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Dnipropetrovsk regions," Ukrenergo reported.

Where security conditions permit, as indicated, emergency restoration work has already begun. Power engineers are doing everything possible to restore power to all consumers as quickly as possible.

Consumption

"Electricity consumption has decreased. The reason for the changes is clear weather across almost the entire territory of Ukraine, which leads to high efficiency of household solar power plants and a corresponding reduction in energy consumption from the general grid. Also, a significant number of consumers were disconnected due to bad weather the previous day," Ukrenergo stated.

According to the data provided, as of this morning, the consumption level was 7.8% lower than at the same time the previous day. On May 27, the daily peak consumption occurred in the evening.

"Taking weather conditions into account, it is advisable to shift active energy consumption today to the period of most efficient operation of industrial solar power plants – from 10:00 to 16:00. Please do not turn on several powerful electrical appliances simultaneously during the evening hours – from 18:00 to 22:00," Ukrenergo emphasized.

At the same time, the Ministry of Energy noted: "The application of restrictions is not forecasted for today."

Consequences of bad weather

Due to unfavorable weather conditions (thunderstorms, strong wind gusts), as of this morning, over 350 settlements in ten regions – Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, Khmelnytskyi, Zakarpattia, Cherkasy, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Kirovohrad, and Dnipropetrovsk – were fully or partially without power.

Oblenergo crews are already performing repair work on lines damaged by the weather.
