According to him, Russia's plans and strategy for Ukraine have remained unchanged, primarily the complete occupation of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
"We see this in the active assault operations conducted by Russia," Skibitsky said at the Security Talks program.
After the March farce, which Moscow calls "elections," Putin will focus on continuing his aggressive policy, the GUR notes.
"He has passed this next stage of holding on to power and will now address the challenges he faces in relation to Ukraine and beyond. Such active preparations for a possible confrontation with Europe, NATO, and the United States have already begun at the level of statements. All efforts will now be focused on this," Skibitsky said.
