A campaign to raise public awareness of the autoimmune disease that causes hair loss and to support people affected by it.

In a number of countries and companies, the contribution of engineers, architects, and designers to infrastructure development is celebrated today.

World Strange Musical Instrument Day

An unofficial holiday for enthusiasts of experimental and avant-garde music, dedicated to rare, exotic, or handmade instruments that produce unusual sounds.

National Peach Pie Day

A popular culinary holiday, especially widespread in the United States, dedicated to baking sweet summer pies with fresh peaches.

Day of Hieromartyr Euplus

According to the new calendar, on August 24 Orthodox believers commemorate Hieromartyr Euplus, who suffered for the Christian faith during the reigns of Emperors Diocletian and Maximian, as well as Venerable Martyr Zinaida. Venerable Theodosius of the Caves is also commemorated. In the folk calendar, this day was often called "Euplus Day" or the day for gathering early apples and preparing cellars for the cold weather.

According to the old calendar: on August 24, people commemorate Saint Martyr Archdeacon Lawrence (Lawrence Day). People believed that calm and quiet water on Lawrence foretold a warm autumn, while heavy rains indicated a harsh and rainy winter; traditionally, girls also collected morning dew on this day for beauty and health.
