Ukraine honored the best athletes of 2024: who received awards

Paris 2024 Olympic champions Yaroslava Maguchikh and Oleksandr Khyzhnyak were recognized as the best athletes of the year in Ukraine. Their coaches Tetiana Stepanova and Oleksandr Khyzhnyak Sr. were named the best coaches of 2024.
The Olympic champions of the XXXIII Olympic Games in Paris, high jumper Yaroslava Maguchikh and boxer Oleksandr Khyzhnyak, have been named the best athletes of 2024 in Ukraine, the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine reported on Tuesday, UNN reports.

"This year's winners of the nomination are the Olympic champions of Paris 2024: Yaroslava Maguchikh, Oleksandr Khyzhnyak," the NOC said.
Their coaches, Tetyana Stepanova and Oleksandr Khyzhnyak Sr. were recognized as the best coaches of 2024.
"As Yaroslava is currently at a training camp, she was unable to attend the event. However, the best athlete of the year recorded a video message to the participants of the event," the NOC said.
Vadym Gutzeit, President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, awarded the best athletes of the year for their assistance in training:
- Boxing Federation of Ukraine. The award was received by the Secretary General of the Federation Dmytro Yeliseyev
- Ukrainian Athletics Federation. The award was received by the President of the Federation Olga Saladukha
- Dynamo Sports Society. The award was presented to Mykola Danevych, First Deputy Chairman of the Dynamo Sports Society
- Central Sports Club of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The award was presented to Oleksiy Shabliy, Deputy Head of the Central Sports Club of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The awarding ceremony for the best adult and youth athletes of the year, their coaches, and the winners of the All-Ukrainian competition of sports journalists "Olympic Ukraine" took place on December 23.
