The United States has charged four Russian soldiers with war crimes for abducting and torturing an American in Ukraine, the first application of the law to prosecute war crimes against US citizens.

The case against Russian soldiers marks the first time that the US government has ever I used a law passed several decades ago aimed at persecution of those who commit war crimes against American citizens.
According to the indictment, Russian soldiers abducted an American from his home. houses in the Ukrainian village of Miloe. The soldiers allegedly beat and tortured the American in the the Russian military unit, where he was held for 10 days in April 2022.
The prosecution says that after his abduction, Russian soldiers allegedly they stripped the American naked, tied his hands behind his back and beat him with their fists, with your feet and the butt of your weapon.
