MFA Ambassador Yaroslav Chornohor stated that Ukraine is closely monitoring the reaction of the Belarusian authorities and propagandists to signals from Kyiv. He emphasized that Ukraine will act solely based on its own national interests.
Ukraine is closely monitoring the reaction of the Belarusian authorities and propaganda resources to Kyiv's signals regarding security threats from Belarus. This was stated by Yaroslav Chornogor, Ambassador-at-Large for Democratic Transformations, Interaction with Democratic Forces and National Movements of Unfriendly Countries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, during a conference at Ukrinform, reports UNN.

The diplomat noted that recently the Ukrainian side has been increasingly raising the issue of security risks created by the Lukashenko regime in cooperation with Russia.
"It is interesting to observe the reaction of Belarusian pro-government media, their figures and propagandists to the signals coming from the Ukrainian side. It is obvious that they carefully track every statement and try to interpret it in a way that benefits them,"
At the same time, he emphasized that Ukraine will act solely based on its own national interests and security needs.
"I understand well that every word spoken by Ukrainian representatives is heard both in Minsk and in Moscow. It is then quoted and interpreted in a way that is convenient for them. But the main thing for us is that the Ukrainian interest is taken into account,"
Chornogor also hinted that the current public discussion around the Belarusian direction may have a continuation.
