Bridge7, a company founded by producer Swati Shetty and former CAA agent Grant Kessman, has acquired the rights to the sequel and TV version from Celador, the British company that produced and financed the original with Film4.
Based on the book Q&A by Vikas Swaroop, Slumdog Millionaire tells the story of an 18-year-old boy named Jamal whose life helps him compete on the Indian version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and reunite with the girl he loves.
In addition to numerous Oscars, including Best Director and Best Picture, the film has won 4 Golden Globes and 7 BAFTAs.
