The Committee on Culture, Science, Education and Media of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted a declaration "Attack of the Russian Federation on the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra". This was reported on Facebook by a member of the permanent delegation to PACE, People's Deputy of Ukraine Yevheniia Kravchuk, reports UNN.

Kravchuk told colleagues about the consequences of this Russian attack and the damage it caused to Ukrainian cultural heritage. Also, as a result of this attack, the Dovzhenko Film Studio, Mystetskyi Arsenal, the Kharkiv Art Museum, and the Dnipro House of Organ and Chamber Music were damaged.

As a result of the strike on June 15, the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, was damaged. This is only part of the systematic Russian terror against Ukrainian culture. According to the latest data, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, about two thousand cultural heritage sites have been damaged or destroyed in Ukraine

The PACE Committee called on the member states of the Council of Europe to support Ukraine in documenting the damage caused, as well as in protecting cultural heritage based on a comprehensive strategy that should include transitional justice and post-war recovery.
