In more than four months, 6,276 firearms and almost 2.2 million rounds of ammunition have been declared in Ukraine. Found weapons can be declared in the units of the National Police.
In more than four months, 6,276 units of firearms and almost 2.2 million rounds of ammunition for them have been declared in Ukraine. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, writes UNN.
Details
The agency reminded that found firearms can be declared in the units of the National Police of Ukraine.
Currently, there are 216 places for declaration/declaration groups.
Documents required for the Declaration of Firearms and Ammunition to them:
- written application;
- passport-booklet or ID-card;
- photo size 3.5 by 4.5 cm;
- extract about the place of residence / registration;
- identification number.
What to do if you find firearms and ammunition?
- report the find by calling 102;
- within 24 hours, arrive at the police to declare weapons;
- declare and keep the weapon for yourself or hand it over to the police.

On November 25, 2024, the Law of Ukraine on ensuring the participation of civilians in the protection of Ukraine regarding the improvement of the procedure for obtaining, declaring and handling firearms came into force.
In three weeks from the start of the procedure for declaring firearms found by citizens, more than 1,000 units of weapons and 80,000 rounds of ammunition have been declared. Among the declared weapons are 350 assault rifles and 470 smoothbore rifles.
