Carrier strike: Ukraine and Poland agree to partially unblock the border

Ukraine and Poland have agreed to unblock the Uhryniv-Dolhobyczów checkpoint for empty trucks and to create separate passes for empty vehicles at the Yahodyn-Dorohusk and Krakivets-Korchova checkpoints in the eCheck system;

Details

Today in Warsaw, Deputy Minister of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine Serhiy Derkach met with State Secretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Poland Rafal Weber.

 The parties agreed to:

-        Opening of the Uhryniv-Dolhobychuv checkpoint for empty trucks to increase border capacity and reduce the load on other checkpoints;

-        Creation of separate passes for empty vehicles in the eCheck system separate passes for empty vehicles at the Yahodyn-Dorohusk and Krakivets-Korchyshche checkpoints. and Krakivets-Korchova checkpoints;

-         Launch of pilot registration in the "eCheck" system just before crossing the border at the checkpoint "Nyzhankovychi - Malhowice" for a period of time Malhowice" checkpoint for a period of one month.

It is noted that the issue of abolishing or amending "transport visa-free regime" was not discussed and was not on the agenda.

At the same time, Polish protesters insist on the operation of the Uhryniv-Dolhobyczów and Nyzhankovychi Malhowice" only for vehicles with EU registration.

 This position was called unacceptable by the Ukrainian agency. unacceptable, because "this is a discriminatory norm in relation to to other countries."  As reportedly, the latter was confirmed during a meeting of the Coordination platform with the participation of the leadership of the European Commission's Directorate on November 30.

At the same time, the Ministry of Reconstruction, together with the Coordination Platform  , is developing solutions that will to resolve the situation with queues at the border.
