The parties discussed strengthening air defense and the Drone Deal initiative. Ukraine expects the opening of the first cluster of EU accession negotiations in June.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen work on strengthening Ukrainian air defense, primarily anti-ballistic capabilities, and also discussed our path to EU membership, UNN reports.

Separately, Zelenskyy and von der Leyen discussed our path to EU membership.

We are fully ready to open all six negotiation clusters and expect that we will be able to open the first cluster – Fundamentals – as early as June. It is equally important that the first tranche from the European support package arrives as soon as possible. There is a date – we hope that everything can be implemented exactly as we agreed.
