Ukraine's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov noted the signing of an agreement on security cooperation between Ukraine and Poland, which took place yesterday with the participation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
This is a new important step in strengthening the defense capabilities of both neighboring states
According to the Minister of Defense, one of the core provisions of this agreement is the creation of a special volunteer unit in Poland to defend Ukraine - the Ukrainian Legion.
Umerov noted that this initiative will increase the combat readiness of Ukrainian volunteers, who will receive the most advanced training from allies from Poland, Lithuania and other EU countries. In addition, the legion will be equipped with the best equipment, which will significantly increase its effectiveness on the battlefield.
The agreement will also provide an opportunity for Ukrainian citizens living in Poland and other EU countries to voluntarily join the defense of Ukraine by signing a contract with the Armed Forces.
