The U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee has voted to extend U.S. security assistance to Ukraine and increase funding by $750 million. This was reported by Reuters, according to UNN.
Details
It is noted that this decision became "another instance of Congressional resistance against the Trump administration's cuts to aid for Kyiv, which is fighting a Russian invasion."
The document adopted by the Senate also prohibits spending funds on any activities that recognize Russia's sovereignty over the internationally recognized territory of Ukraine, and instructs the Department to provide Kyiv with intelligence support for military operations to defend or reclaim this territory
It is indicated that the bill must now pass a vote in both houses of Congress, then undergo reconciliation between them, and only after that will it reach the U.S. President for signature or veto.
