The United States has approved the sale of hundreds of millions of dollars worth of military equipment to Taiwan. This was reported by CNBC, according to UNN.

The US State Department has approved an agreement with Taiwan to supply equipment for command, control, communications, and computer modernization worth about $265 million.
At the end of November, the United States also agreed to sell Taiwan $385 million worth of F-16 spare parts and radars. This included $320 million in support of F-16 systems and active electronic scanning radar equipment. In addition, Taiwan will receive mobile subscriber tools and other equipment worth about $65 million.
Under U.S. law, the United States is obligated to provide defense support to Taiwan, despite the lack of formal diplomatic relations. This decision traditionally provokes a sharp reaction from China, which considers Taiwan its territory.
