Heorhii Tykhyi emphasized that Ukraine views Poland as an ally and a friend and calls for focusing on what unites both countries.

"Our general appeal to Poland — our allies, friends — is let us look for reasons for unity in the past where possible, and seek grounds for a common struggle against our common enemy now, who currently wants to destroy both Ukraine and Poland,"

- the spokesperson stated.

Also, in his opinion, the assessment of historical events depends on the purpose for which they are addressed.

"One can look for various things in the past. The question is, what are we looking for in the past? If we look for reasons for division, we will find them; if we look for reasons for unity to confront a common enemy, we will find them too,"

 - Heorhii Tykhyi noted.
