Ukraine has opened its first agrohub in Africa within the framework of the Food from Ukraine initiative, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko and the Ministry of Economy announced on social media on Tuesday, UNN reports.
Ukraine has opened its first agrohub on the African continent - in the Republic of Ghana. A Food Processing and Distribution Center has started operating as part of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Food from Ukraine initiative.
According to her, the agrohub was created by Ukrainian agribusiness in cooperation with the government of Ghana as a result of agreements reached during the Food from Ukraine conference in November 2025. The Ministry of Economy indicated that the opening took place on April 9.
"This is a new format of our presence in the world, where humanitarian support is combined with the development of partnership and the local economy. Ukrainian products will be combined with local ones, food kits will be formed and their distribution will be ensured. The next stage is the development of processing, packaging and portioning directly in Ghana," the Prime Minister said.
According to her, the first kits already included locally produced rice and pasta made in Ghana from Ukrainian flour. During the opening, 4,000 food kits were handed over to the most vulnerable segments of the population, Ghanaian widows, she added.
"We consider Ghana an important partner in West Africa for humanitarian support and trade development on the west coast of the African continent. We are ready to share our expertise, technologies and experience in increasing yields to jointly strengthen global food security," Svyrydenko said.
