US President Donald Trump stated that if an agreement to stop the bloodshed in Ukraine cannot be reached due to Russia, he will impose additional tariffs on all oil coming from Russia. He stated this to NBC News, as reported by UNN.
Details
President Donald Trump said he was "very angry" and "furious" when Vladimir Putin criticized the trustworthiness of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's leadership, adding that the comments were "out of place."
Agence France-Presse reported that Putin on Friday called for the creation of a transitional government in Ukraine that could effectively oust Zelenskyy.
If Russia and I cannot reach an agreement to stop the bloodshed in Ukraine, and if I believe that it will be Russia's fault - and it may not be - I will impose additional tariffs on oil, on all oil coming from Russia.
Trump also stated that this would mean that if you buy oil from Russia, you cannot do business in the United States.
A 25% tariff will be imposed on all oil, a 25-50 point tariff on all oil
Trump also said that Putin knows he is angry, but noted that he has "a very good relationship with him" and "the anger will quickly dissipate, ... if he does the right thing."
In addition, the US President noted that tariffs against Russia would come into effect within a month if there was no ceasefire agreement. At the same time, Trump said that he and Putin plan to talk again next week.

Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council, reported that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is not interested in ending the war and is doing everything to disrupt the movement towards peace by putting forward some demands. At the same time, his room for maneuver can be limited by tough sanctions against Russia and support for Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Putin proposed introducing some form of temporary administration in Ukraine, allegedly to hold new elections and sign key agreements to achieve a war settlement, Russian news agencies reported early Friday.
