On Thursday, Trump wrote in a social media post that the signed agreement "will be approved," but added that it "is fully contingent on Saudi Arabia joining the highly respected and successful Abraham Accords."
On Wednesday, Energy Secretary Chris Wright and his Saudi counterpart signed an agreement granting Saudi Arabia a civilian nuclear program. In his post, Trump emphasized that there "will be no enrichment" of nuclear material.
Saudi Arabia has previously resisted attempts to join the Abraham Accords, efforts initiated during Trump's first term and expanded during his second term to establish diplomatic ties between Israel and its neighbors in the Middle East.
