During the negotiations, US President Donald Trump reportedly communicated directly with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, while US Vice President JD Vance, US Secretary of State and Trump's National Security Advisor Marco Rubio, and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff discussed the terms through direct and indirect channels with the Iranians.
The White House claims that the agreement was only made possible by US strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities on Saturday.
Trump also communicated directly with the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, during the conversation he thanked him for his assistance in mediating the ceasefire agreement, the official said.
