The U.S. Office of Personnel Management has published a draft document that federal agencies are to use for new and existing employees. The agency stated that the agreement is designed to "protect non-public, confidential, or proprietary information" obtained during government service.

The initiative is part of a White House campaign against information leaks to the media. The Trump administration cited instances where FBI and Department of Homeland Security employees allegedly leaked data about immigration operations and other government actions to journalists without authorization.

The Office of Personnel Management also proposed discussing what measures could be applied to employees who refuse to sign the non-disclosure agreement.
