There were 136 combat engagements in the frontline over the last day, August 6. The situation remains the most tense in the Pokrovsk sector, where Ukrainian troops repelled 42 enemy assault attacks. Over the last day, the Defense Forces struck 25 times at the areas where enemy personnel and weapons were concentrated. This is stated in the report of the General Staff as of 08:00 on August 7, UNN reports.
According to the updated information, yesterday the enemy launched two missile attacks on the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas using three missiles, as well as 73 air strikes, dropping 97 UAVs. In addition, it carried out over 4,900 attacks, including 79 from multiple launch rocket systems.
Yesterday, the aviation and missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces conducted 25 strikes on the areas of concentration of enemy personnel and weapons, as well as hit four command posts, two air defense facilities, four artillery facilities and a fuel and lubricant depot.
According to the General Staff, the situation in the areas is as follows:
Nine combat engagements took place in the Kharkiv sector. Defense forces repelled enemy assaults near Liptsy, Tykhy and Vovchansk.
Six combat engagements took place in the Kupyansk sector, including near Synkivka, Kolisnykivka, Hlushkivka and Novoozynove.
In the Liman sector, the enemy attacked 19 times near Makiivka, Nevske, Terny, Torsky and Serebryansky forests.
There were 21 combat engagements in the Northern sector . Ukrainian defenders repelled Russian assaults near Bilohorivka, Verkhnekamianske, Ivan-Daryivka, Vyymka, Pereyizne and Spirne.
In the Kramatorsk sector , 10 combat engagements took place, in particular in the areas of Chasovyi Yar and Ivanivske.
In the Toretsk sector, Russians attacked 18 times near Pivnichne, Toretsk and New York.
In the Pokrovsky sector, our defenders repelled 42 enemy assaults in the areas of Vozdvyzhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Zhelanne, Kalynove, Oleksandrivka, Vesele, Ivanivka, Kalynivka, Skuchne, Yasnobrodivka, Karlivka, Panteleymonivka, Novozhelanne and Mezhove.
In the Kurakhove sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces stopped eight attacks near Krasnohorivka and Kostiantynivka, where the enemy tried to break through the defense of our troops.
In the Vremivsk sector , Russian troops stormed the positions of Ukrainian units near Vodiane.
In the Prydniprovsky sector, two enemy offensives were unsuccessful.
In the Huliaypillia and Orikhivsk sectors , the situation remains unchanged. In the Volyn and Polissya sectors, no signs of enemy offensive groups were detected.
On the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the enemy maintains a military presence, conducts mortar and artillery shelling of settlements from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increases the density of minefields along the state border of Ukraine.
"At the same time, our soldiers continue to actively inflict significant losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line," the General Staff assured.
