Prosecutor General Kravchenko noted that such cases form the foundation for the Special Tribunal regarding the crime of Russian aggression against Ukraine.

A case has been sent to court against a Russian occupier who shot at a civilian car, finished off the driver with shots to the head, and burned the evidence. This was reported by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko, according to UNN.

This case concerns the murder of a civilian on the Kyiv-Chop highway, near Bucha. One of the few evacuation routes. People were fleeing from the shelling. The civilian vehicle was moving between the villages of Myla and Berezivka in the direction of Zhytomyr. The Russian serviceman saw that it was a civilian car. Despite this, he opened aimed fire. At least 63 bullets

- the Prosecutor General reported.

According to the investigation, when the car stopped, he approached the wounded driver and finished him off with several shots to the head. After that, he burned the car along with the body.

No combat. No threat. Only the intentional murder of a civilian

- Ruslan Kravchenko emphasized, describing the crime.

The case against the driver-mechanic of a tank company of the 212th District Training Center of the Eastern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces has been sent to court.

The evidence includes intercepted conversations in which the accused confesses to the deed, and the testimony of another Russian serviceman who was an eyewitness to this murder

Ruslan Kravchenko noted that such cases form the foundation for the Special Tribunal regarding the crime of Russian aggression against Ukraine.

Behind the identification of every such name stand months of work by investigators and prosecutors. I worked with these materials myself and I know that behind every episode is not just a protocol, but a human life cut short intentionally. This is not just one episode. This is part of a large systemic effort that unites thousands of facts of Russian war crimes into a single evidentiary base. It is from such cases that the foundation for the Special Tribunal regarding the crime of Russian aggression against Ukraine is formed. We are preparing these materials right now. And we will prove every episode. It is not a question of time. It is a question of inevitability

- Kravchenko emphasized.

In his post, the Prosecutor General added that he remembers every crime committed by the Russians in Bucha and that daily work is being carried out to identify war criminals.

I remember Bucha well in March 2022. I remember those roads where people tried to save themselves. I remember every crime and every criminal proceeding that I and my colleagues investigated then. Every day we identify the Russian military personnel who committed these crimes. Consistently. By name. With evidence that stands up in court

- Ruslan Kravchenko stated.
