As indicated, prosecutors of the Vinnytsia Regional Prosecutor's Office proved in court that the former People's Artist of Ukraine and ex-MP from the banned "Party of Regions" moved to the Russian Federation after 2014 and systematically supported the aggressor state. She reportedly participated in propaganda events, justified the armed aggression against Ukraine, and spread anti-Ukrainian narratives (Part 6 of Art. 111-1, Art. 436, Part 3 of Art. 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
"On May 28, the Vinnytsia City Court sentenced her to 12 years in prison, a ban on holding certain positions for a term of 15 years, and confiscation of all property to the state revenue," the PGO statement reads.
According to the case materials, since the Revolution of Dignity, Povaliy has been living in Moscow, where she continues her creative activities and received Russian citizenship in 2023. She participated in concerts in support of the so-called "SMO" and events dedicated to the illegal occupation of Ukrainian territories, and also systematically appeared in Russian propaganda media, the prosecutor's office noted.
In 2024, the HACC (High Anti-Corruption Court) ruled to seize her assets for the state, including land plots and real estate in the Kyiv region, vehicles, weapons, and property rights to 9 musical works. In 2025, these rights were officially registered to the state of Ukraine.
