Sybiha to visit Moldova on May 14-15, where the launch of the Special Tribunal for the crime of aggression of the Russian Federation will be initiated

Minister Andrii Sybiha will visit Moldova to participate in the meeting of the CMCE. More than 30 states will approve the agreement on the launch of the Special Tribunal regarding the aggression of the Russian Federation.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha will visit Moldova on May 14-15, where he will participate in the ministerial meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. The key event will be the approval of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on the Steering Committee of the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine, UNN reports with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On May 14-15, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha will pay a visit to the Republic of Moldova. In Chisinau, the Foreign Minister will participate in the 135th Ministerial Session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that the key event will be the approval by more than three dozen states of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on the Steering Committee of the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine. This implementation agreement will provide the legal start for the tribunal's work. Other CMCE decisions in support of Ukraine are also expected. 

On the sidelines of the meeting, a number of important negotiations are planned between the Minister and colleagues from Council of Europe member states, its leadership, and heads of several international organizations.

The bilateral component of the visit will include negotiations between Andrii Sybiha and his Moldovan counterpart Mihai Popșoi, as well as a regional trip. The Ukrainian Foreign Minister will visit the city of Bălți in northern Moldova for the first time, where Ukrainians make up about 30% of the region's residents. 

The Minister will meet with the regional leadership and visit the Alecu Russo Balti State University, the Center of Ukrainian Language and Culture, the Ukrainian House of the "Zapovit" Union of Ukrainians, lay flowers at the monument to Taras Shevchenko, and hold a meeting with the leadership of Ukrainian communities.

The visit will be a landmark event in terms of holding Russia accountable and developing the Ukrainian-Moldovan partnership, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs summarized.
