At the summit in Paris, discussions revolved around how sanctions could be strengthened to support the US initiative to bring Russia to the negotiating table through further pressure, as well as further military and operational plans to support any ceasefire and peace in Ukraine "on the ground, in the air or at sea," British Prime Minister Kier Starmer said after the summit. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that he was pleased to see the commitment "not to lift any sanctions until Russia ends this war", UNN reports with reference to Sky News.

Starmer said the Ukrainian summit in Paris was "very constructive".

"There was absolute clarity that Russia is trying to delay (peace - ed.), is playing games, and we must be absolutely clear about this," Starmer said.

According to him, the leaders agreed that Ukraine needs more support "to ensure that Ukraine occupies the strongest possible position both now and in further negotiations".

Starmer also noted that there was "complete clarity that now is not the time to lift sanctions".

On the contrary, what we discussed was how we can strengthen sanctions to support the US initiative to bring Russia to the negotiating table through further pressure from this group of countries

- Starmer said.

According to him, further "military and operational" plans to support any ceasefire and peace in Ukraine "on the ground, in the air or at sea" were also discussed at the meeting.

"The meeting showed that a lot of countries stand, as they have stood for more than three years, with Ukraine at this crucial moment for as long as it takes," Starmer said.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also came to the press approach with Starmer after the summit.

Zelenskyy noted that he was pleased to see the commitment "not to lift any sanctions until Russia ends this war".

He added that he wants "more pressure" on Russia.

"More sanctions packages (against Russia - ed.) are important," Zelenskyy stressed.
