Who can become a blood donor

Healthy people aged 18 and over, weighing 50 kg or more (some blood centers accept from 55-60 kg), can be blood donors in Ukraine. Ukrainians, as well as foreigners with a permanent residence permit in Ukraine, can donate blood.

A healthy person is a person who has no contraindications. If you have chronic diseases, are taking medication, or are registered with a doctor, you cannot be a donor temporarily or at all.

Contraindications for donation

They are divided into temporary and absolute. Temporary ones include, in particular, vaccination with live vaccines, and absolute ones include serious cardiovascular diseases (except for completely cured congenital pathologies), hepatitis C, HIV.

Before becoming a donor, you must familiarize yourself with the Donor's Memo. It is also necessary to check the list of temporary contraindications for donation.

All advice and warnings from specialists should be strictly followed.
