The Security Service of Ukraine is working on a version of the involvement of Russian special services in the murder of a public figure and linguist, former MP Iryna Farion. This was reported by the SBU on Friday, UNN reports.

In his turn, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko provided some details of the investigation, which led to the identification of the suspect, an 18-year-old resident of Dnipro.
"This week we have fully established the timing and timing of this suspect's life during the 10 days he was preparing for the crime," Klymenko said.
According to the head of the National Police of Ukraine, Ivan Vyhivskyi, more than 900 witnesses were questioned, 22 forensic examinations were conducted, and more than 9,000 images from 170 CCTV cameras were analyzed as part of the investigation.
According to the investigation, the offender arrived in Lviv by train on July 9 and rented and changed 3 different apartments to disguise himself. He was preparing for the crime by watching the house where Iryna Farion lived for a long time, the SBU said.
According to Ihor Klymenko, a bullet casing was found at the murder scene, which was probably fired from a converted sports pistol.

"Also in the browser history of the suspect's mobile device, search queries were found that may indicate his interest in the activities of various pro-Russian politicians in different regions of the country," the SBU said.
The investigation is currently ongoing.
