Russia has increased its troops to 710,000 for a strategic offensive in Ukraine, but Ukrainian forces are successfully repelling attacks, regaining control over occupied territories, and striking the aggressor's critical infrastructure. This was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, writes UNN.
To conduct a strategic offensive operation, the enemy has increased its grouping to approximately 710,000 personnel. Despite significant losses, the Russian army does not abandon its offensive actions, although it has not achieved significant operational successes.
Syrskyi cited specific examples of successful actions by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
"Thanks to active search and strike operations, we managed to push the occupiers away from Kupyansk and take control of almost 90 percent of the city's territory.
He specifically focused on the situation in the Pokrovsk direction. Here, the enemy has been trying to capture Pokrovsk for more than 17 months. However, Ukrainian units are holding the defense and seizing the initiative. As a result of counter-offensive actions, they regained control over 16 square kilometers in the northern part of the city. They also recaptured 56 square kilometers of territory in the areas of Hryshyne, Kotlyne, and Udachne settlements west of Pokrovsk," the commander-in-chief emphasized.
Syrskyi also noted that, in addition to actions on the front, Ukraine is systematically increasing pressure on the enemy deep within its territory. Ukrainian military forces are successfully striking critical infrastructure facilities in Russia with Deep Strike assets. As a result of these strikes, Russia's direct and indirect losses since the beginning of the year amount to a total of 21.5 billion US dollars.
