russia has almost completed a military port in the occupied territory of Georgia in the Abkhazian city of Ochamchira. This is reported by UNN with reference to the TV channel Pirveli.

Details

According to the journalists, the port will soon be able to receive warships, and construction work is ongoing. The published footage shows several buildings, which, as the TV channel suggests, will be occupied by russian occupants.

Correspondents emphasize that the port could be used against Ukraine and become a target for its military assets.

It is noted that russia announced several months ago the timely completion of the port construction.

In 2023, the separatist regime began to declare that in 2024 or this year the port in Ochamchyry would be opened and put into operation, but as a military port that would receive russian warships. the russians are working, construction equipment is moving around the perimeter, and there is a fairly active process of preparing this port

- said David Katsarava, leader of the anti-occupation movement in Georgia.

Recall

Last fall, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to russian statements about the creation of a new base for the Black Sea Fleet in the occupied part of Georgia.

"(...) We will get them everywhere," Zelensky said, emphasizing that there are no safe places for russia along the entire coast of the Black and Azov Seas.
