According to Oleshchuk, on the night of August 11, 2024, the enemy attacked with 4 KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Voronezh region and 57 Shahed-type attack UAVs from the districts of Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Yeysk, and Kursk in Russia. The occupiers also attacked the city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk region, allegedly with rocket artillery.
"As a result of anti-aircraft combat, mobile firing groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, aviation, anti-aircraft missile units and electronic warfare assets of the Air Force shot down 53 enemy UAVs in Mykolaiv, Odesa, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Kherson, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Rivne and Cherkasy regions," the Air Force commander added.

In addition, Oleshchuk noted that KN-23 ballistic missiles, although rarely hitting their intended targets, pose a serious threat to the population.
