Construction work on the restoration of the Okhmatdyt children's hospital, which was damaged by a Russian attack last year, should begin in May - early June. This was stated by Minister of Health Viktor Liashko on the air of the telethon, UNN reports.
Details
We have taken steps, Okhmatdyt is working and performing unique surgical interventions. Okhmatdyt is working because primary emergency measures were taken, which allowed us to get through the autumn-winter period without stopping the main, innovative building, which is key to Okhmatdyt's functioning.
The Minister noted that they are currently awaiting the completion of the project documentation development, and the Ministry of Health is in constant contact with the designers.
What are the plans? Completion of project documentation development by the end of March - beginning of April. In April, we will pass all examinations, start bidding for a builder. May - early June, construction work should begin, which should be completed before the onset of cold weather this year. The facades have been agreed upon, these are the most difficult things.
He also noted that a separate block is the old surgical building.
There will be a complete renovation there. A tender is currently underway to select a contractor. He will develop at least two proposals on how we move forward. The first is whether it will be completely demolished and a new building will be built in its place. Resources for it are available from the World Bank. The second option is that there will be a complete renovation within the existing building. Now there are tenders, two months to determine which path we are taking and also forward to the construction of an innovative building.
Is there money?
Liashko stated that a large number of people donated to the innovative building, the funds are in the accounts, no one is using them.
Plus, the state has accumulated an additional 300 million UAH in case we see that it is not enough. Regarding the old surgical building. We have worked with the World Bank on it, and the World Bank has accumulated a sum of funds within the HEAL project so that we can also restore it. Therefore, there are no problems with resources.
