Up to seven passengers are expected to compete for a single seat on trains during the peak summer period, with a total of 7 million passengers planned to be transported, Ukrzaliznytsia reported, providing a series of tips against this backdrop, UNN writes.
Details
"Ukrzaliznytsia has entered the peak period of 2024. Already, we receive 340,000 ticket requests daily and transport 80,000 people. Going forward, this proportion will grow from 4 contenders per seat to 6-7 people per ticket," UZ stated.
"To be as transparent as possible in answering the question: 'Where are the tickets?'," Ukrzaliznytsia is continuing its tradition of summer reports—weekly data on the transportation of children's groups and military personnel, top destinations, and actual capacities.
"During the first week, 472,873 passengers traveled by rail, and the record holder was train No. 104 Lviv-Lozova — it transported over 13,000 people. Overall, it is planned that UZ will transport 7 million passengers during the three summer months," the report says.
Tips for travelers
"To ensure your trip happens, there are a couple of effective methods. The foundation of everything is planning ahead. The earlier you decide to go and start monitoring tickets, the better the chance of purchasing them. Ticket sales start 20 days before the departure date," UZ noted.
The company also pointed out that there is an "effective auto-buy option." "Through the Ukrzaliznytsia app, you select the required train and date. When a seat becomes available for sale, the program purchases it. This has been verified by thousands of passengers," UZ reported.
For military personnel and their families, tickets from a special reserve are reportedly available. They can be purchased through the "Army+" app.
