An official of the "Kyivavtoshliakhmist" utility company has been served a notice of suspicion for overpaying 2.5 million hryvnias for partially completed emergency repair works on the capital's Pivdennyi (Southern) Bridge, UNN reports, citing the Prosecutor General's Office.
Under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, an official of the utility company for the repair and maintenance of bridges and roads in Kyiv, "Kyivavtoshliakhmist," has been notified of suspicion of official negligence.
It was established that the official was responsible for monitoring and verifying the quality and volume of emergency repair works on the ceiling and console slabs of the Pivdennyi Bridge overpass.
The works were carried out from December 2024 to August 2025. The official failed to ensure verification of the compliance of the installation and dismantling of individual steel supporting structures. In fact, he accepted the works without verifying whether they were actually completed in full.
Subsequently, "Kyivavtoshliakhmist" overpaid 2.5 million hryvnias for them, which is confirmed by the conclusion of a forensic economic expert examination. Thus, the capital's budget suffered losses in this amount, the Prosecutor General's Office added.
The suspect's actions are classified under Part 2 of Art. 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely as official negligence—the improper performance of official duties due to a conscientious attitude toward them, which caused grave consequences to state interests protected by law.
