New course in Army+ will teach soldiers the rules of war and crime documentation

A course on the rules of war consisting of 8 modules and 21 lessons has launched in Army+. Service members will learn how to document crimes and will be able to receive a certificate.

A new course, "Fundamentals of International Humanitarian Law," has launched in the "Army+" app, designed to help military personnel make decisions during combat operations in compliance with international norms. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to UNN.

The course explains what is permitted and what is prohibited during war. Specifically, it covers the protection of the civilian population, rules for the treatment of prisoners of war, the distinction between military and civilian objects, and the documentation of war crimes.

The program consists of 8 modules and 21 lessons. It covers key principles of international humanitarian law, rules of engagement, liability for violations, and the role of commanders in ensuring compliance with these norms.

Military personnel will be able to submit reports on transfers between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard online – in the "Army+" application23.10.25, 17:16

Special attention is paid to the preservation of evidence of war crimes and combating conflict-related sexual violence.

Tests are provided after each module, and at the end of the course, there is a final exam with the opportunity to receive a certificate.

The course is primarily aimed at enlisted personnel and non-commissioned officers. It was prepared by officers of the Legal Support Department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Central Legal Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with support from the UK Embassy's Special Defence Advisor program.
