Suspilne Broadcasting has completed the acceptance of applications for the national selection for Eurovision 2025, having received 369 applications from Ukrainian and foreign performers, reports UNN.
The call for applications was open from September 17 to November 10, and this year's national selection was marked by international interest. Among the participants are artists from Ukraine, Sweden, Germany, Poland, the USA, France, Spain and the UK, who submitted a total of 374 songs (some artists sent more than one song).
It is reported that a total of 232 solo artists and 72 bands have applied to participate. After the preliminary selection, a longlist of up to 20 performers will be formed to take part in the auditions. By December 20 , up to 9 finalists will be selected, and one more participant will be determined by online voting.
The final list of finalists will be announced by January 17 , 2025 . The final of the national selection, in which the winner will be determined by the audience and the jury, is scheduled for February 2025. Ukraine's representative will perform at the 69th Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Basel, Switzerland.
It is also noted that the selection for Eurovision 2025 in Ukraine is now supervised by singer and songwriter Tina Karol, who has become the new music producer of the national selection. In this position, she replaced Dmytro Shurov (Pianoboy), who had been performing this function for the past two years.
Representatives of 37 countries competed at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö, Sweden. The winner was Nemo with the song The Code. Ukraine's alyona alyona & Jerry Heil took third place with Teresa & Maria and a production by two-time Grammy nominee Tania Muinho.

Earlier, some artists publicly stated that they had applied for the National Selection, including singer SoloKha, singer ENLEO, band Ziferblat, band MOLODI, singer TESLENKO. There were hints of the possible participation of ROXOLANA and Kazhanna.
