The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine signed an agreement for 500 million euros for gas procurement, for the first time under an EU guarantee, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced on Telegram on Wednesday, writes UNN.
Naftogaz and the EBRD signed a record agreement for Ukraine - 500 million euros for gas procurement. This is the bank's largest project in our country. But most importantly, for the first time, such a loan is provided under an EU guarantee, without a state guarantee from Ukraine.
According to her, "this will allow Ukraine to better prepare for the heating season and provide Ukrainian homes with heat and light even on the most difficult days of winter."
She expressed gratitude "to the EBRD and the EU for their support, and to the government and Naftogaz teams for their professional work."
Naftogaz indicated that they will purchase gas "on competitive terms from more than 30 pre-qualified suppliers based on contracts concluded in accordance with the standards of the European Federation of Energy Traders (EFET)."
