The HACC applied a preventive measure to the former head of the Economic Court of Appeal - detention and bail, UNN reports with reference to the SAPO.

The HACC investigating judge granted the motion of NABU detectives, agreed with the SAPO prosecutor, and imposed a preventive measure of detention on the former head of the Economic Court of Appeal of one of the regions with an alternative of UAH 30 million 280 thousand bail.
The measure of restraint is valid until 27.02.2025 inclusive.
The court ruled to take the suspect into custody in the courtroom.

In early December 2024, the SAPO and the NABU exposed a judge and former chairman of the Economic Court of one of the regions on extortion of USD 1 million in undue advantage from a representative of a private company. In return for the money, the individuals promised to ensure that the necessary decisions were made in court cases that were being considered by one of the appellate economic courts. During the investigation, the SAPO and the NABU established the involvement of another person in the crime, namely the former head of the Economic Court of Appeal of one of the regions.
As of today, the actions of all the exposed persons are qualified under Part 2 of Article 28, Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
