The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine rejects the accusations of the Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, about the alleged involvement of the Main Intelligence Directorate in supporting the rebels in Syria. This is reported by UNN with reference to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine categorically rejects the groundless accusations of the Russian Federation against Ukraine of alleged involvement in the deterioration of the security situation in Syria. Unlike Russia, Ukraine unconditionally adheres to the norms of international law, the principles of inviolability of sovereignty and territorial integrity of other countries
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs once again emphasized that it is Moscow, together with Tehran, that bears the main responsibility for the persistent trend of deterioration of the security situation in Syria, and it is the crimes of the Assad regime against its own people and its unwillingness to ensure a fair dialogue within the country that have jeopardized the survival of Syria as a single independent state.
