In Zakarpattia, six officials have been notified of suspicion for the illegal use of over 220 hectares of state forest for the residence of former MP Medvedchuk. The value of the land is estimated at 2.5 billion hryvnias.

In Zakarpattia, suspicions have been reported against six participants in a scheme involving the illegal use of over 220 hectares of state forest. This concerns a forest area where the "Vedmezha Dibrova" dacha, which belonged to former MP and state traitor Viktor Medvedchuk, was built. This is reported by UNN with reference to the Office of the Prosecutor General.

Details

Under the procedural guidance of the Zakarpattia Regional Prosecutor's Office, suspicions have been reported to the head of the regional and three heads of district forestry and hunting enterprises, the former head of the Volovets District State Administration, and the director of a private company in the case regarding the illegal use of over 220 hectares of state forest

- the statement reads.

This concerns a forest area of 226 hectares, where the "Vedmezha Dibrova" residence, linked to the family of the sanctioned and convicted for state treason Viktor Medvedchuk, was illegally built.

According to estimates by the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine," the value of these lands is 2.5 billion hryvnias.

The investigation established that in 2013, part of the land was transferred to a private company for long-term temporary use, ostensibly for the construction of a sports and health complex. In reality, the territory came under the control of the oligarch's family and was used as a closed private recreational area. It was established that over 220 hectares of state forest were arbitrarily occupied and fenced off with a fence about 8 km long. On the territory, estates with a total area of almost 2,800 sq. m, a helipad, a cheese factory, a stable, a restaurant, a garage, and other objects unrelated to forestry were built

- added the Office of the Prosecutor General.

Depending on the role of each suspect, they are charged with arbitrary occupation of a land plot committed by a group of persons, abuse of power, and official negligence that caused grave consequences (Part 2 of Article 197-1, Part 2 of Article 364, Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Since November 2025, the "Vedmezha Dibrova" estate has been transferred to ARMA for management by a private company. According to the results of an independent assessment, in December 2024, the value of the complex amounted to over 493.5 million hryvnias.
