During another massive attack on the night of July 30, Russian troops used a combined strike of ballistic and cruise missiles against several regions of Ukraine. This was reported by Yuriy Ihnat, head of the communications department of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during a national telethon broadcast, as reported by UNN.
Details of the attack and the missile's incursion into Poland
The spokesman of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine explained: the Russians planned the strike so that ballistic weapons would hit some regions, while cruise missiles were directed toward western Ukraine. At the same time, according to Ihnat, one of the enemy cruise missiles flew into the territory of the Republic of Poland.
"The attack is not something new, let's say, compared to others, because such attacks have already occurred when the enemy attacks some regions with ballistic missiles and other regions with cruise missiles... The enemy planned the strike so as to hit with ballistic missiles and missiles flying on a ballistic trajectory... in several regions... and then the cruise missiles flew toward the west of our state,"
He confirmed that during the shelling, one of the enemy targets flew into the territory of a neighboring state, where Polish air defense engaged it.

The representative of the Air Force noted the high results of combat work in shooting down cruise missiles of the Kh-101 and "Kalibr" types.
At the same time, Ukrainian defenders managed to neutralize one ballistic missile.
Yuriy Ihnat emphasized that due to the wide geography of ballistic strikes, Ukraine urgently needs Patriot systems and ammunition for them.
"Regarding ballistic missiles, everyone knows the problem, it is clear that systems are needed and, most importantly, missiles for them, for the Patriot systems, in order to counter them. Especially since the geography of the ballistic strike was quite wide," he emphasized.
In addition, according to the Air Force, this night the enemy used "Iskander-M" missiles, S-400, and anti-ship "Zircon" missiles, which approach targets on a ballistic trajectory. In particular, in the Vinnytsia region, hits from two "Zircon" missiles were preliminarily recorded.
Where Russian troops launch missiles from and why they mix them
Speaking about the launch directions, Yuriy Ihnat said that the enemy calculates the geography of strikes depending on the range of specific weapons. For attacks on the northern regions of Ukraine, Russia uses the Bryansk and Kursk regions. The occupiers are capable of launching "Zircon" missiles both from the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea and from the north.
The spokesman also revealed the tactic of combining S-400 and "Iskander-M" missiles.
"Next we have the S-400 system, these are surface-to-air guided missiles designed to shoot down aerial targets, but they are used against ground targets, with a much smaller warhead, about 150 kg, but the enemy also uses them together with Iskanders to have more missiles, specifically so that they fly as ballistic missiles, to mix them with the same Iskanders and inflict more strikes, making it harder for us to destroy them,"

The night combined strike by the Russians led to destruction and casualties in several regions.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, in the suburbs of Kryvyi Rih, three children and two adults died as a result of the attack.
In the Brovary district of the Kyiv region, five people were injured.
In the capital, due to falling debris in the Sviatoshyn district, one person died, and two others were injured. The explosions damaged the "Avangard" market in the Obolon district, as well as an administrative and warehouse building and a garage cooperative.
In Lviv, hits from cruise missiles on multi-story residential buildings were recorded. Debris removal is currently ongoing there.

On the night of July 30, Russia launched a massive combined strike, using 74 missiles and 284 drones. Air defense forces shot down or suppressed 55 missiles and 265 drones.
