Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets said that the head of the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center intended to fabricate criminal proceedings against Andrii Kriuchkov, the Ombudsman’s representative in Zakarpattia Oblast, allegedly for obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Lubinets links this to the discovery of numerous violations by employees of the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centers. Lubinets wrote this on Telegram, reports UNN.
I previously spoke about how my representative in Zakarpattia Oblast, Andrii Kriuchkov, exposed numerous violations by employees of the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centers. But it seems these facts proved too inconvenient for someone. Instead of an appropriate response to the violations uncovered, the person who spoke about them came under pressure. I received information about the head of the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center’s intention to fabricate criminal proceedings against Andrii Kriuchkov—allegedly for obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations
He added that this was no longer simply pressure; it was an attempt to tie the hands of those whose job was to protect people’s rights.
Things must be called by their proper names: I see signs in such actions of interference in the work of the Commissioner and his representative with the aim of obstructing the performance of their official duties. Liability for this is provided for under Article 344 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. I fully understand that the Defense Forces need personnel reinforcements. This is a matter of our ability to defend the state. But mobilization gives no one the right to disregard the law and human dignity. And I will say more: it is not those who speak about violations who harm the Armed Forces. They are harmed by those who send seriously ill people and individuals who, due to their health, are unable to perform military service properly. Therefore, attempts to force us to remain silent will not work
